I Have Been Taking Alendronic Acid For Five Years (70

I have been taking alendronic acid for five years (70 mg - once a week). I am 62. Prior to taking alendronic acid I had two bone fractures (wrist and shoulder). A bone scan indicated 'minimal thinning' and alendronic acid was prescribed as a precaution. I have no side-effects and no further fractures. My dentist is aware I take alendronic acid and keeps an eye. Do I still need to take it? I also take a vitamin D supplement daily, take regular (but not vigorous) exercise, am of normal weight and do not smoke.
