Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking amphetamine salt combo 30 mg ( half twice a day),citalopram tabs 40 mg (half twice a day) and a zolpidem tablet 10 mg. to sleep at night for over 11 years. I am totally addicted to the the zolpidem. my doctor has change the zolpidem 10 mg to trazodone 50 mg, just recently. I don't want to be addicted to another sleep medication. But taking the amphetamine salt and the citalopram, I will always have to have something to take to sleep. I am so wanting to stop taking these meds. It all started with some tragic events in my like that left me quit depressed. Any suggestions! I'm retired now and feel like the meds are all bogging me down. There's not a much demand on my life...I think if I ever get off of these meds gradually I would be fine.
