I have been taking temazepam 10mg to aid sleep for the past 10 years.
I am aged 79 and started temazepam because of insomnia after caring for a terminally ill relative. I am profoundly deaf so worried I may not hear his calls, so did not sleep well for months. I had always been a poor sleeper and had tried simple meditation, exercise, diet and herbs – but nothing helped, until I was prescribed temazepam which gives me a good night sleep and no side effects.
I recently moved house and my new doctor wants to stop prescribing temazepam. I have bought some “sleep aid” online which are doxylamine succinate tablets 25mg. I took one, which sure made me sleep, but I woke with head pains and felt drowsy all day. I am wondering whether to try half a tablet. I feel quite upset at having to stop the temazepam.
It is the only drug I take. Any advice appreciated.
