I Have Both A Cataract And Astigmatism In Both Eyes

I have both a Cataract and astigmatism in both eyes and I am 78 years old with high blood pressure but no other aliments.
Dr is recommending that I have multifocal catarat suregery using a laser. I am wondering if I would be better off just getting Astigmatism correcting cataract surgery for less cost.
Also, Is laser surgery safer than having doctor do it manually?
