Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have cellulitis about 2 x a year. It started in 2001 and that year I had it about every 6 weeks; it took 10 days or more to get over it. My doctor I used back then said it was Shingles. I continued through the years of having this...it effects my face, mostly on the right side. When I have a flare up I run fever, chills, headache and erruptions on my face. I have been hospitalized twice with it. Second doctor called it cellulitis, but then said I had MRSA and that I was a carrier because they did a nose sample to see if it was in my nose. It was once but not the next time. I have also had arthritis and my hands and feet are what is hurting now. It changes from time to time. My fingers have become enlarged and twisted. I have also had both knees replaced. I have also had back surgery...L4 and L5...done in 1980.
Cousins on both sides of my family have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am thinking I may have this and the two problems are interacting with each other.
I am going to see a specialist on Dec 2. What do I need to emphasize in this visit...or can you give me some good direction to go in.
