I have developed a series of what has been diagnosed as epidermoid cysts. They keep spreading and are full of infection. I went to a dermatologist who took a biopsy and a culture. The biopsy came back negative for cancer. The culture, however, according to the lab, said it take at least four weeks for the culture to grow in the laboratory. That report is not back yet, and the dermatologist doesn't want to treat it until he knows for sure the nature of the infection. These are very painful, especially where they have spread to my ear, under, behind, and the ear lobe. They are full of blood and red stringy material and what looks like chunks of tomato. What do I do in the meantime? This condition has taken over my life. It is hard to go out into public since I have to drain them several times a day and am in much pain? Thanks for your help.
