I Have Excessive Hair Growth In Both Ears. I Am

I have excessive hair growth in both ears. I am a 56 year old female. The hair is worse in my left ear. My Dr. tells me that he doesn't see anything in my ears out of the ordinary, but I can see it, and it's very annoying. I am constantly picking at my ears, only to have the problem again as soon as I feel like I have gotten everything out of them. This has been going on for several months. I have been prescribed drops, and cream, neither one has helped. Even went to an ENT. Something is causing this, but no one seems to want to find the cause. When I take a picture with my phone, it looks like something coming out of the pores in my ears, white strings, sometimes looking black. At times, it feels like slimy mucus is draining out of my ears. What would this be, & what can I do?
