Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a coughing problem for 7 weeks. I am 60 years old. I've been told I have asthma, allergy related. I have been improving slowly but on occasion when I breathe in it feels like a pin pricking my tonsil or back of my throat or something and it tickles, which makes me cough and then it increases. When I am breathing in and coughing, the tickles stabs harder and harder and I can barely catch my breath. The last two times it happened my hands started shaking and my eyes watered profusely. It just comes on without particular warning. And then I have actually gagged and spit with nothing coming out. It then subsides. Any thoughts. My original flare up was caused by my inhaling water while drinking and choking. It hasn't been the same since. pa
