I have had an IUD since 10/2011. I have not had any menstrual bleeding or spotting in over 2 years. Yesterday I started bleeding at a steady flow, and this morning woke up with a sharp shooting pain in my right lower pelvic area. my personal Hx of ovarian cysts had me think one may have ruptured but the pain has been persistent and will not subside. I have taken 350mg of oral Soma and 800mg of Motrin through out the course of the day and have had no relief at all. I have no fever and my vaginal bleeding has stopped since the pain start with a slight tint of red/pink when I wipe after using the bathroom. I am running out of ideas on what it could be and am curious of outside opinions before I waste my night sitting in an ED to get no results.
