I have had foot and ankle pain recently. Tested for gout and negative. CBC mentioned slightly elevated WBC of 12. They mentioned cellulitis and gave me antibiotic Thursday. My pain is mainly in ankle with swelling but no redness. No injury to ankle that I can think of. Does cellulitis always have to appear red? Just wondering if misdiagnosed. Been on the antibiotics since Thursday with little improvement. Painful and swollen when moving around. Less swelling and pain in am after sleeping and rest. Just concerned. Does cellulitis sound correct? Does it take awhile for antibiotics to remedy situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
