I have had intense pain under my left shoulder blade for nearly 6 weeks. I didn't do anything in particular to injure it. I just woke up one morning with the beginning of the pain. It started in my lower back & over the course of about a week, travelled up to my shoulder, mainly under the shoulder blade, but sometimes different areas all around the shoulder, where it has remained ever since. It is usually a constant, dull ache but then an intense, stabbing pain when i move my arm certain ways. My arm also feels weak & heavy at the top & I often have numbness in my fingertips. I have an incredibly high tolerance for pain but this past weekend it became a indescribable level of pain i have never experienced before, that had me crying uncontrollably. Every breath intake produced a pain that felt as if I were being stabbed. After about 2 hours of this with it not easing up at all, I had a friend drive me to the E.R. I was admitted & stayed around 24 hours. I'm unsure of what tests they ran or what drugs they gave in my IV, except Ativan. The following day a doctor came in & as coldly & bluntly as possible, stated that the pain was from doing meth & i needed to call for a ride because I was being discharged immediately. I was still very foggy & confused & lethargic from the Ativan. I tried asking the doctor (and then several nurses) if someone could please explain further & give me more information. I couldn't get anyone to tell me anything other than to basically get dressed & get out. This experience has scared me enough to never touch meth again! However, the pain in my shoulder & other issues are still there! Along with the obvious quitting of the drug, I'd like to know what is wrong with my shoulder, if it's something that will go away on its own & what I can do to make it better, if anything. I am well aware that I was an idiot to smoke meth in the first place but now I would like someone to explain the rest of it to me as if I'm still a human being. Thank you very much!
