I Have Had My Right Knee Meniscus Inside And Outside

I have had my right knee meniscus inside and outside repaired---2 years ago. Ever since then I have this horrible upper leg "cramp" that really debilitates me. Last night at 4:00 a.m. I had the leg cramp and it was so awful, I nearly passed out, broke out into a sweat, used hot compresses, brushing to stimulate the blood, mustard under my tongue and fast hard massage to make it release.
I couldn't even sit on the toilet or lean over without excruciating pain.
Is this normal for a cramp or could I have a blocked artery in my leg? Also had bad varicose veins in both legs repaired 6-8 years ago.
Do I need water, magnesium ???
