I Have Had Problems With Post Menopausal Bleeding And Pelvic

I have had problems with post menopausal bleeding and pelvic pain. I have had an ultrasound and biopsy of my cervix and uterus. My ultrasound showed I have a mildly heterogeneous, thickened endometrial stripe measuring 7 mm. Consider endometrial biopsy. My biopsy results are: Endometrium, biopsy - Scant fragments of benign atrophic endometrium. Rare fragment of benign ectocervix. I have also been diagnosed with cervical stenosis, thus the attempt for my biopsy was extremely painful and my doctors state I need my cervix dialated and a edometrium biopsy be performed under general anethesia. Why would I need an additional edometrium biopsy if the first result was benign? Also, what would be recommended for " thickened endometrial stripe measuring 7 mm"?
