I Have Heard In The Past That Loud Music Damages

I have heard in the past that loud music damages my hearing but does that scale up and down with music speed? For example would a slow song at full volume cause less or more damage than a fast one? I am asking because my favorite music (Which I listen to at mid-volume) plays at about 700-1500 beats per minute but if I am risking my hearing by listening to it I would like to know.
