I have pain in the soft tissue under my second toe, right foot has a bunion of many years with no pain up until now. A podiatrist said that I have an inflamation in the ligament/toe joint and suggests an orthotic for my shoe. He also gave me a toe splint to wear occasionally when sitting or resting.
I guess my question is, Is this a common occurence? and may I expect to heal and resume regular activities such as walking for exercise?
