I Have Reflux-induced Esophagitis. My Pain Doctor Gave Me A

I have reflux-induced esophagitis. My pain doctor gave me a Toradol injections; erroneously, he said it would last for a month. Now I read it is short-term. Web MD says that a corticosteroid medication should be given for esophagitis. Will a corticosteroid injection work long-term systemically to reduce esophageal inflammation? I have damaged nerves at the LES due to doctors failing to diagnose GERD for 3 years (back in the 1990's), so I cannot ingest most medications unless enterically coated.
