Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have ruptured the acl in my right knee and I fractured my right thibia. this was 30 days ago. The fracture is healing well. I wear a brace and I am on crutches. my doctor has recently allowed me to put up to 25 percent weight on my leg. I am low level pain in my knee all the time which is tolerable during the day but a real problem at night and I am having problems sleeping. I am taking napraxem sodium before I go to bed but still wake up with pain. My doctor is taking a wait and see approach to surgery. I am 65 and my goal is to walk and ride a three wheel recumbent bike. I am in good physical shape at 5 foot nine inches and 160 pounds. my questio is can I expect to ave to live with pain from the ruptured acl for the rest of my life? I am working with a physical therapist.
