Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I haven't done cocaine in 10 years until 3 weeks ago. It was crazy how quickly it took hold of me again after that first line. So anyways I ended up getting awful congestion and a sinus infection. Those neti squirters wouldn't even go through from the ammount of mucus. Still I would keep doing it for about 36 hours and then stop when I could no longer breath out of my nose even if my life depended on it. Still after 1 day or 2 off when I could breath again I would repeat the cycle. I felt like since I was on antibiotics that I would be ok and my nose would bounce back once I finished this almost 1 month doing 2 grams a week binge. Usage has been basically one day on and 2 days off. So anyways now my nose is so swollen that both sides actually touch when I look inside. On top of that there is bleeding and redness and these awful white spots that at first I was worried were a fungus but the doctor said it was just irritation of the lining and gave me antibiotics and steroids. I have been doing rinses and using a lot of saline and distilled water drips to try and limit the irritation but still when I blow my nose if I can get anything out it's just blood and GREEN mucus. I'm finished with the antibiotics but am also not sure if I can use my flonase for the swelling because I know it can put you at a higher risk for developing an infection so I dont know if I should use it after my rinse tonight. I know this is stupid but I still have some left and I know that I will end up using the rest tmw. I am absolutely done after that point though. I mean that 100% What would my best plan of action be at this point? Saline rinse? Flonase? Benadryl? Ibprofen? A combination of these things. Do I need to get more antibiotics? Things start to get a lot better when I take a 2 day break but It's pretty bad in there (my nose) right now and I just want to know what to do tonight and tmw to minimize damage.
