I just found my grandson has this disorder ,he just turned 17 and my daughter has never told me about it until it came up in a casual conversation and she briefly mentioned that he had this. I only was aware that he was very bright and I knew he sees a therapist every week but I thought that was due to family issues. Mom and Dad have been divorced for many years and share joint custody. His father has definite mental issues and every time the therapist tells him he needs help, he wants his son to change therapist.. I am watching a TV show called Parenthood and I am now made aware of this condition from the show. I am so surprised my daughter hasn't discussed this with me over the years that she has been having a difficult time dealing with her ex and their son. I am going to discuss this with her and ask her why all these years I just found out about it by accident. We are very close so I am some what dumfounded.
