I Just Had My Tonsils Removed Yesterday. I Have All

I just had my tonsils removed yesterday. I have all the normal symptoms now. Very sore throat, swollen uvula, irritated mouth. But I have felt this thick build up of mucus, I felt it immediately when I woke up from surgery. Then finally today I managed to clear my throat enough to spit it up. It's a green mucus like the kind I have when I'm sick or have an infection. I am on antibiotics and taking pain meds regularly. Is this green thick mucus normal during recovery?
