I Just Recently Has Cataract Surgery Removal Last Month Both

I just recently has cataract surgery removal last month both eyes, two weeks apart. I am now having flashes in both eyes. Is this common? My Dr. says I had them before the surgery but didn't notice before because I can see much better. My left eye is 20/20 but by right eye is 22/24 or something like that. I have worn glasses all my life about sixty two years and did not realize in my right eye I was almost partial blind and I am a diabetic. Will these flashes ever stop. I brought it to my Dr.'s attention, he said it eventually will once my eyes are completely heal. I also rub my eyes when they are itching which I know I shouldn't, those this cause the flashes
