Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just spoke with a friend I haven’t seen for awhile. She recently lost her son to suicide. She is taking Cymbalta 60 mg daily for depression. She also told me that 20 yrs ago she was put on klonopin for panic attacks she was having. I am a nurse but my specialty was Oncology so I’m struggling to help her. She complains of her stomach being in “knots” every morning upon waking and she thinks it could be the cymbalta. She’s afraid that the physician will increase her dose at next appointment. I asked her how much klonopin she was on and she explained she was at one point taking 2 mg QID but that she was being slowly weaned off and is now down to bid. Told me she takes her first dose at 8 am to help “ with the knots” and it doesn’t help so she takes second dose at noon. I explained she needed to try and take the two doses 12hrs apart but she kept talking about the “knots in her stomach. What can I say to help her?
