I Noticed There Was A Black Spot On The Roof

I noticed there was a black spot on the roof of my daughter's mouth. My daughter was sick recently with a cold and each time she coughed her throat would hurt. However, she is feeling alot better now. Can you tell me what is causing this, if I should be worried, and how to treat it?
