I quit smoking after I got my CNA back in June. I struggled at first but finally asked my doctor for Chantix and I love it! I haven't had a cigarette since Early July. I am still active with my prescription and while on the Chantix, I have no desire to use nicotine, but the days I've gone between prescriptions, I find myself still craving them IF I smell them. My question pertains to this new hospital job I've been offered. They test for nicotine. Will Chantix affect this urinalysis? Because I genuinely haven't used any tobacco or nicotine based products and just heard that Chantix may show up positive for the nicotine screening. If it does, my career that I've worked so hard for, will be ruined. Please help. Should I stop these cold turkey and is there something to quickly cleanse this crap out of my system? I thought I was doing the right thing by asking for help with my tobacco use and now I think I hurt myself further. If I do test positive, how do I explain this to my employer and beg them to still hire me?
