I Recently Was Intimate With A Male Who Advised Halfway

I recently was intimate with a male who advised halfway through that they had the HSV2 virus.
They advised they were not leading up to an out break and they did not have blisters at the time, but there had been skin to skin contact (no penetration - I am also mail) at this point.
I immediately terminated everything and washed myself off with shampoo (only thing available at the time).
Since 12 hours after I've had a light stinging sensation on the head of my penis - as if someone was blowing cold air onto it. At about 36 hours I've gotten a flu like virus.
I've seen my GP and he's advised that it is too soon for me to get symptoms and very unlikely if I have contracted it, and anything I am feeling is caused by me googling things in combination with an existing anxiety problem I have.
Is it possible that the things I am feeling are being caused purely by anxiety?
Or is it more likely I've contracted HSV 2? I've given blood for tests but I'm aware that can't be accurate for a long time...
