I Requested With My Primary Doctor (the Only Doctor That

I requested with my primary doctor (the only doctor that has treated me for hypothyroidism) to look at other medication alternatives to Levothyroxine. I asked her if she knew much of Armour Thyroid and she said that she has not seen favorable results in other patients and requires additional testing. Therefore, she will not consider this change.
I was diagnosed with a hypothyroid over 4 years ago. My thyroid when initially tested was 79! It took about 2 years to get this number to consistently under 4. I continue to have what I would consider significant symptoms that have not been minimized or eliminated. I have struggled with cold intolerance of the hands and feet, lack of focus (brain fog), brittle hair, dry skin, acne, and insomnia. I am overweight, I have high cholesterol, and even with a strict healthy diet over the last year I could not lose a significant amount of weight. I lost 15 pounds but could not lose any after that. My triglycerides improved to “normal range” but my overall cholesterol still remains at 242.
What course of action would you recommend?
