I Take 100mg Of Carbamazepine 4 Times A Day. I

I take 100mg of carbamazepine 4 times a day. I have Trigeminal Neurologea. It has been under control for years. Last week I started to have pain again. It has progressively gotten worse. Today I have not been able to function. It is hard to even get the pill down. the last time I was at my doctors she said I was taking a low dose and could increase. Can I double the amount I take without a serious side effect?
