Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I have a herpes lesion on my buttock. I thought it was a spider bite. When I was googling spider bite pictures something came up about how people with herpes can sometimes mistake these non-genital outbreaks with bug bites. Up until then, I had no idea you could have outbreaks anywhere other than genitals and mouth. I have had herpes for about 13 years, but have never had a visible outbreak. Just had a blood test saying I had HSV II. I'm scared because I had sex with a man I'm dating last night with that sore on my bottom. Nothing was oozing, I just have a red spot with some bumps that have evolved from looking like irritated pores to 3 small flat white heads. We used protection but I'm concerned that he touched the area and it may have exposed him. He knows I have tested positive for herpes, but we both thought I was asymptotic. What are his chances that he make have got it?
