I was diagnosed with trich back on July and just found out 2 days ago. The nurse missed it on my chart and did not notify me until now. I went back and was prescribed metronidazole and was also retested. Ive been in a commited relationship for 6 years and never had sex with anyone except my partner. He has in the past admitted to cheating but says he used protection. I told him about the results but he swears he doesnt have it. He does not have any symptoms. He went to the doc and had urine culture done yesterday and we are awaiting the results from his test and my retest. I have been searching the internet for other possible ways to get trich and came across several posts showing that urine culture in men is not reliable and will most likely return a false negative. Is this true? I would love for both of our tests to come back negative but I'm affraid of his being negative and mine positive and he's the only person Ive been with.
