Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in a cycling/SUV accident a few years back, where my head hit the ground twice before my body did. My helmet shattered. I was in training and cycling at 35 km an hour finishing 65 kms when I was hit. I had organ injuries, groin nerve injuries, broke my back, etc. I spent 18-20 hours a day in bed thinking it was solely due to pain and re-ignition of my depression. i literally had to fight against my body, it felt like it was against gravity, it was hard to just go to the bathroom. I didn't have any energy to even check my diabetes. After years of severe swearing, fatigue, depression, suicidal tendencies, etc I started to get even sicker so I started to check my sugars especially when I started to sweat. I was shocked to find that my sugars are consistently between.6-.3 my blood pressure is holding at around 80/45, my breathing was shallow, pulse is at 120, I never get a temperature when I have an infection, I've been getting vaginal and bladder infections, etc. I was admitted to ICU before Christmas and after then in critical care when I was flown by air ambulance to a research hospital for three weeks. I coded three time. Then they discovered that I had Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency after finding that I had a nodule on my pituitary gland. Could this have been caused by my cycling accident? I had none of these symptoms prior.
