I Was Just Diagnosed With A Fractured Rib By X-ray.
I was just diagnosed with a fractured rib by X-ray. Initially I heard and felt a pop in my back during a hug. A slight pain followed the day after, wasn’t bad enough to do anything about, and lasted only 2-3 days. One week later I felt and heard the same pop in the same place while stretching. This time the pain was sharp and bad enough that I took Tylenol and treated it with ice for a few days. There has been a lump in the area of pain and it is still is very painful one week later. Is it possible the hug broke my rib? I didn’t experience any other trauma. I am a 59 year old female with osteopenia. How can cause be determined?
