I Was Moving From Yard Debris About 2 Months Ago

I was moving from yard debris about 2 months ago and got a thorn in my right hand ring finder behind the knuckle. I believe I removed the entire thorn as there was no pain. It was swollen for a couple days then subsided until last evening where it has become swollen again and is very warm. What would cause this after a couple weeks?
