I was prescribed Escitalopram for anxietya month ago. I experienced severe agitation and restlessness, a need to pace, a rapid heart rate and high blood pressure 147/89 which is really high for me as my normal is 112/69. I was also experiencing shocks similar to when jerked awake from dreaming of falling except this feeling would happen almost hourly. I also had diarrhea when on the lower dose of 5 mg and constipation when on 10 mg as well as a constant headache for an entire month. My doctor then prescribed trazodone to help me sleep. This only helped me stay asleep, but I woke up to a very swollen face and bloodshot eyes that would take hours to go away. I have been switched to mirtazapine as of today. I see that both of these medications have major interactions with mirtazapine. My question is whether I should let some time pass before starting the mirtazapine or is it safe to start it right away?
