I Was Prescribed Topiramate By My Family Nurse Practioner For

I was prescribed
topiramate by my family nurse practioner for weight loss. I am a 69 year old female. The 25mg dosage made me feel somewhat spacey and caused, i feel, some memory problems. It was effective, I felt in the weight loss. However, I had the worst case of constipation I have ever had and did feel wierd. I have osteoporosis and have had a reclast injection within the last 30 days. My question is - If I take 1/2 the prescribed dosage will it be safe and will there be permanent side effects? I was losing weight and have gained it back since not taking this drug. I also had a detached retina several years ago but that it fine now. I just need some guidance as to whether I should take this or not. I would love too if it doesn't permanently harm my health.
