I Was Taking A Jog On Some Gravel Steps On

I was taking a jog on some gravel steps on a near by mountain trail. I slipped and slid on my right shin causing some of the skin to peel off. Immediately I saw my shin start to swell up. It was hurting I for a second thought I had broke my leg. I was able to stand on it and walk my way back to my vehicle which was a few yards away making me use my leg to walk the rest of the stairs in order to get back. However it's been a day and I'm able to walk on my leg but my chin is still swollen compared to my other leg. Might there be some blood in there that I might have to have drained out? I put some ice on it but it still is the same. The only pain I feel is when I add pressure on it. What should I do? Will the swelling go away on its own? It does have a purple tint to it. Do you think I should see a Dr.?
