I Was Told Tramadol Is Not An Opioid, But Worked

I was told tramadol is not an opioid, but worked on a different set of sensors. Afflicted with arthritis in all major joints artificial knees and spine injuries from the past, it keeps me moving and fairly comfortable with the addition of celebrex. I use approx. 3 a day and and being censored by the reviewboard of my workers comp organization. I'm 75, still doing part time work as xray tech and active. Am I right in fighting this sanction?
