I went on Combivir following an instance where my protection broke and I decided to start taking Combivir out of precaution (I followed by taking a HIV 1, 2 & p24 antigen test also two weeks after, my partner did the same and results were negative ...although I will be doing a duo test 28 days after exposprey and I'll go for another one after 3 months) ....

All was going well until I started having joint stiffness by my knee which after a week or so spread to all my other joints including my hip , shoulders, feet and neck. I notified my GP but he said I should carry on and finish my 28 day combivi cause. I followed up with a ortheapedic who gave me anti-inflammatory meds and painkillers for now.

Now my question is ...could these joint popping and sudden aches be due to the combivir or some other viral infection ? ...I also plan on going for std checks tomorrow to confirm if it might be gonorrhea related.

Please let me know what are your thoughts.
