Hi... What your friend has is more likely a concussion. Concussion is a most common traumatic type of head injury. Violent shaking of the head causes imbalance in the CSF ( brain fluid) orientation leading to minor secondary injury to the brain called concussion. one of the symptoms of Concussion is Amnesia ( forget things due to memory defects) and concussion is graded accordingly. Your friend is in Grade1 the mildest form so do not worry it will gradually subside. Things to do- 1) rest both mentally and physically. 2) watch for signs of head injury like loss of consciousness, vomiting, severe headache, seizures, ear/nose bleed, giddiness, if so report immediately to the hospital. 3) Donot give tramadol (pain kiler) for pain as it might cause vomiting and giddiness which can overlap with head injury symptoms.
