Ichthyosis Vulgaris With Permanent Redness, Lower Feet, Heels, Feet Soles. Cause Not Known. Suggestions?
Hello
I have a permanent redness on the lower part of my feet, my heel & the soles of my feet. Ive had this for over a year. It looks like bad blood circulation or some kind of inflamation.
I do have Ichthyosis vulgaris but not sure of this is the cause. Been to one derm & they dont know whats its from. Any help is appreciated!
Hi, Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM. As per your query you have Ichthyosis vulgaris with redness of lower limbs. Now as you very well know Ichthyosis vulgaris is a genetical condition where we find dryness and flakes over all over the body. The redness which you have is sometimes the part of this problem because of the fact that excessive dryness sometimes causes more of new skin to come prematurely and early over the top. Due to this premature skin there comes the redness over these areas.
For the betterment you need to reduce the excessive dryness. For the same you apply a lot of moisturizers or white petroleum gelly multiple times per day. Eat a lot of sprouts and papaya or vitamin A containing fruits and green leafy vegetables in your daily diet. Even if you are not getting better or the redness is persisting and increasing then should change your dermatologist and take the best of advise and treatment. Hope this information will help you. Wish you good health. Dr Sanjay Kumar Kanodia MD (Skin)
