If No Heartbeats Are Detected At 8 Weeks Pregnancy, Does It Mean I Will Have A Miscarriage?

I am 8 weeks pregnant and through u/s scan doctor said still no heart beat detectable. He said this will miscarry later natue\rally and if it does not happen it sould be wash out. Later I appointed another Gyn and he suggest to get one Ecorin 75 tablet daily and come another teo weeks time. he promissed for my baby delivered healthy. what is the relationship between preganncy and Ecorin 75 tablet ? will this work out? Please help me

Welcome to HCM,
The causes for not seeing heart beat could be few. If you are not sure about your First day of last period, or your periods were not regular before you conceived, or you had delayed ovulation. In these cases, actually your pregnancy could be less than 8 weeks, and if we do scan before 7 weeks, may bot be able to see fetal heart beat. It is also possible, not to see the heart beat, if you have lot of fat over your lower abdomen, you have retroverted uterus, or your bladder is either overdistended or underfilled with urine. It also depends on skill and experience of your sonologist. When we have this situation of not able to see heart beat, we usually ask patient to empty the bladder and do scan trans vaginal. By this route, we can diagnose heart beat even at 6 weeks. The worst possible thing is that, your baby is not developing and as your previous Doctor diagnose it as Missed abortion. Ecotrin helps in getting proper blood supply to the foetus and it is given in all those women who had prior mishaps of pregnancy and high risk pregnancies. It may help your baby, if it is not already missed abortion. it is wise to wait for 2 weeks and do repeat scan, before you take any decision to go for cleaning of womb, unless while waiting you start bleeding, pains, dizziness etc.
