I'm 73 And My Wife Noticed Today That My Face

I'm 73 and my wife noticed today that my face was very red then I told her that my feet were swollen. I'm in fairly good condition....walk regularly. After a while I noticed that my ankles had swollen also and my face is still red. I see my PCP in 6 days for a checkup. Is it safe to wait? I feel fine.
