I'm a 30 year old female, physically fit and generally healthy (but with a sedentary desk job). Almost 6 months ago I woke up after sleeping in a horribly twisted position on my stomach and noticed some moderate back pain--hard to describe the pain, just very stiff and achy. I assumed it would resolve, but weeks passed and it continued to hurt, but only when twisting my spine to either side. At rest, standing and sitting I don't feel it. I saw a chiropractor a couple of times initially and got a couple massages but nothing helped, so I kind of gave up and just waited to see what happened. It hasn't gotten worse, but it's still just there, and again, only when twisting my trunk. I've started seeing a different chiropractor who does physical manipulations, which have been excruciating because she twists and cracks my spine, so I'm pausing on those until I know what the cause of the pain is. I have an appointment with my doctor next week and am hoping for a referral to get some imaging tests done. My mind has been racing with all of the worst possible scenarios and I'd just like if someone could put my mind at ease in the meantime. Thank you.
