I'm Taking Lozartan 100mg Daily In The Morning That Makes

I'm taking Lozartan 100mg daily in the morning that makes me very dizzy and by 6:00 pm my blood pressure shoots upwards. I'm cutting my pills in half and take one at 9:00 am and the other half at 9:00 pm. Now my blood pressure stays in the 125/70 range day and night. I'm 80 years old and just wondering if cutting them in half gives me a equal dose or are the pills not mixed well?
