In 25 Weeks Pregnancy Is Sugar Level Of 166 Normal ?

Hi my wife is 25 weeks Pregnant . Age 27 Yrs. Weight 90 Kgs. Today I checked her sugar just 1 hour after slight snacks . It came up to be 166 (Checked at home itself) Is 166 ok or should I wait for 2 hours after food to check again. Currently on Glucophage 500 MG ( Thrice a day) & Duphaston (Twice a day) but today only taken 1 Glucophage in the morning. Please advise.

Her glucose level will depend heavily on what she eats. High car and sweet diets increase the blood sugar. You need to do an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test and HBA1C to confirm how her Sugar control is. These are the standard tests for Diabetes in pregnancy. This test at Home doesn't matter much. 166 after an hour is not conclusive of much. Kindly get the tests done above to confirm. Watch her diet. Include fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet. She needs to keep a good count of her Foetal movements as well. Discuss with the Gynaecologist on the above points and you could get the right care and management for Diabetes in Pregnancy.
