Hi,
Please don't worry as stress will lead to further increase in BP and also these are common and easily treatable conditions.
It is not possible to tell how much drug any patient will need to control the high blood pressure. So the usual practice is to start with a low or medium dose and check the BP after a few days. If the dose is OK for that person, the BP will be normal. If not than increase the dose and recheck after a few days. sometimes it is needed to change the medicine also and switch to another drug or a need to use 2 drugs.
You need to keep on rechecking it at shorter intervals initially and than after longer intervals once the dose is adjusted. Sometimes it may be needed to decrease the dose after a while.
Other measures that are extremely useful and important are regular exercise both morning and evening or atleast 20 minutes of cardio workout thrice a week, a very low salt diet [so home cooked food and no outside or tinned food,] loads of fresh fruits and green vegetables with little oil. Avoid cheese and butter and a good sleep and recreation or yoga or meditation. All these help to decrease the blood pressure.
Try to add soyabeans, tofu and soy yogurt in your diet as they contain lots of phytoestrogens that are better than the synthetic ones.

So try these out and do not worry. Let the doctor decide the dose and you will be fine.
So, have a nice day, smile to keep the stress away and thanks for using HCM.
Hope this helped.
