In Menopause And Finding Difficult To Lose Weight. Is It Safe To Take Phentermine And Effexor Together?

Hi. I am currently on 150mg of effexor daily - I am considering taking phentermine for weight loss. I am 185 pounds and 5 feet 4 inches - 55 year old woman in menopause and I am having a very hard time losing this weight. Would it be safe to take both these medications together... I am healthy in all respects.

hi,
Thanks for your query. I understand your concern and i am glad to give you my suggestion.
In menopause its normal to gain a little extra pounds due to the hormonal changes your body goes through. Considering your height and age its ideal to weigh around 120-140 pounds , and its not very difficult to shed down the extra 40-50 pounds u seem to weigh.
Taking phentermine and effexor is not advisable, as it would cause you side effects like anxiety, confusion, sweating, and also can lead to increase in your blood pressure.
Try and lose weight by conventional methods for now as you are not too obese.
If you feel you need to go for drugs to lose weight write back to me and i would help you accordingly.
wish you good health.
