Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In the last two years both nails on my big toes have developed multiple layers of nail on top of each other. It is not painful. The bottom nail is not lifted off the nailbed. It is not painful. I am 80 years old. My Dr. advised taking Biotin and Boron to stop borderline osteoporosis that was beginning. How an i diagnose what is happening? My skin dr. says it is not a fungal infection and OK to ignore it if does not cause pain. But both nails now getting about 5 layers one on top of the other and it is getting hard to find comfortable shoes. Don't know if should see podiatrist or dermatologist or some other type of specialty dr. Can you give me any guidance? Thank you. My email address is YYYY@YYYY
