Increase In Blood Pressure After Exercise. Increased ST Segment Response. Meaning?
could exercise for 06 minutes and 44 seconds of the Bruce Protocol and achieved a work load of 08.10 mets. He attained a peak heart rate of 141 beats/minute which is 87 % of the predicted maximum. There was no classical angina. There was mild increase in blood pressure from 120/80 to 150/90 and there was no S3 and S4 gallop in the recovery period. In the pre exercise there was no significant ST segment change. At peak execise there was 3.1 to 3.6 mm segment depression inleads II, III, aVF and 1.5 to 2.3 mm in leads V3-V6. Increased ST segment response inleads II,III, aVF and in leads V3-V6 appeared in the 3-4th minute of the exercise and lasted 1 minute into recovery period. What does it mean ?
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
With information you have provided this is Stress test report and this is positive for exercise induced reversible myocardial ischemia.
This test is done to detect and confirm ischemic heart disease.
Please visit your cardiologist and he/she will guide you further with result if required other investigations.like CBC,FBS,PPBS,Lipid profile and 2 D echocardiography.
Anti anginal therapy prescription with aspirin and statins.
If appropriate your doctor may suggest medical therapy or advice coronary angiography for detecting coronary blocks if present can be treated with angioplasty and stent.
If mild lesions are detected then life style modifications and medical therapy may be advocated.
Hope this explains to you the report and helpful to you.
Take care
Good Luck.
That means Coronary Artery Disease, unless proved otherwise.
That means it is necessary to go for angiography as soon as possible...
Absence of pain and good effort tolerance do not rule out
You have not stated your age, gender, personal habits, family history or co-morbidities - which may suggest other less common causes.
Discuss with your doctor
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
hi
The above ETT shows following result
POSITIVE FOR CRITICAL ISCHEAMIA(arteries are narrowed too much and hence less blood supply)
ADVICE:diagnostic angiography TO SEE HOW MANY ARTERIES ARE BLOCKED AND STENTING CAN BE DONE OR NOT
INVESTIGATION:LIPID PROFILE , ECHO 2D
TAKE CARE
