Increased Heart Rate With Difficulty In Breathing. Diagnosed With Amyloid Earlier. Calcium Deposits In Heart Causing This?
I am laying down resting and my heart just starts beating rapidly and very hard. It is slightly more difficult to breathe but not overwhelming. I counted 185 beats per minute and it is still beating this fast for several minutes. My heart started this a few years ago but very infrequently. Now it is happening every other day. I am starting to get scared. I was diagnosed with amyloid disease several years ago and I fear calcium deposits might be blocking blood flow to my heart?? Please help
A heart rate above 100 is considered abnormal and 185 bpm would definitely be too high.
The amyloid disease can be affecting the heart, it can result in deposits in the heart which would affect the ability to contract. It can also cause abnormal changes in the heart rate or rhythm.
With such a high heart rate, you should consider visiting your doctor for an assessment which would include examination of the cardiovascular system, ECG and echo.
Medication would be needed to control the heart rate if it is confirmed high.
I hope this helps
