Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Increased Heartbeat, Feeling Full, Appetite Loss, Warm Skin. What Is It?
Hi, sometimes I feel my heart beating really fast. My appetite goes away and I start to feel full, even if I was hungry before. My skin gets really hot. After lying down or having a good warm shower I calm down and feel normal again. I thought perhaps it s anxiety , but sometimes it happens even when I m calm. Needless to say that when I feel like this, I start to panic.
I understand that your functioning is being affected by the fact that you are having anxiety / panic attacks during times when you least expect to have one, which is very typical of an anxiety or a panic disorder or attack. Assuming that you have been checked out for all kinds of medical problems, I suggest that you see a psychiatrist who can help you with your problem with anxiety. There are very effect psychiatric medications and also therapy can help with this problem. Also using yoga, pranayama and regular daily exercise will help with your medical condition. I hope this helps, but please visit with a psychiatrist who can help take the edge off of your anxiety by prescribing you medications and help with the problem. I hope this helps.
Hello
Welcome to health care magic
I can understand your situation. I appreciate your effort to seek online support.
As per your details, you are possibly having underlying anxiety disorder (panic disorder). However, consult a general physician first to rule out any medical illness.
If everything comes out to be normal, consult a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation. Following treatment strategies would be helpful-
1) Antianxiety agents like SSRIs (escitalopram, sertarline, paroxetine etc) & Benzodiazepines like clonazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam etc
2) Psychotherapy/ Counselling sessions
3) Relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, deep breathing etc
Hope it helps
Good luck
